information about the extension service and county offices, upcoming
events, employment, and services. The
site includes information on extension marketing information sources,
programs, the departments of 4-H and family development, and soil
testing, and has a plant identification guide with photos and descriptions.
It also includes Priority links to information on agricultural viability,
productive futures for youth, strengthening families, financial
competence, environmental resources, and food safety and nutrition. More than 500 extension publications, including newsletters,
are available in PDF format, organized by subject. The site lists links to other sites within the Cook
College of Rutgers University, and links to individual county extension

Citizenship and Service Education (CASE) is an undergraduate
program at Rutgers combining academic studies with community service.
It serves faculty, students, CASE Community Partners, and the general
public of New Jersey through service-learning partnerships. The web site includes information about the program,
including statistics on classes and community work, information for
participants in various capacities, and information about CASE Community
Partners. It also includes general community service/volunteer information,

and administration, and to the Board of Agriculture and the State Agricultural

The Department of Environmental Protection is the
state department responsible for issues in environmental regulation,
land use management, natural resource management, historic resources,
and environmental planning and science. Its web page includes
information on the department and its internal divisions; information
on the National Environmental Performance Partnership; a searchable
information databank covering commonly requested environmental topics;
news releases; and a calendar of events. The Strategic Plan 1998-2000
and the state's State of the Environment report are available online
in PDF and HTML formats. The DEP Bulletin is also available on

The Middlesex County Office of Economic Development
web site includes a county profile, municipal profiles, and information
about local chambers of commerce. It also provides statistical information
about labor, education, income, building activity, quality of life,
and demographics. More general information is provided on the business
climate, labor and employment, education and training, and business
incentives. The site includes a list of
contact information and information on available building sites.

The Commerce and Economic Growth Commission replaces
the former state Department of Commerce and Economic Growth; the governor
serves as the chairman of the commission's board of directors. The web site describes the commission and its purpose,
with more detailed information about the various agencies and offices
which comprise the commission, and their individual duties. The site
also includes information about business assistance programs, relocation
information, technology, and general information about New Jersey's
business climate. The site also includes news briefs about economic
development and commerce issues.

on commuting, lotteries, weather, the state government, jobs, business,
transportation, travel and tourism, education, technology, and taxes.
The site includes a news center, with recent updates on New Jersey,
and a center for online forms and information on special topics, such
farmland preservation or the 2000 census. The
site also lists an extensive alphabetical listing of state services,
and a listing of state departments and agencies, organized by department
or alphabetically. State directories are available online in HTML format.
Other state publications are available in PDF format, and are organized
according to the issuing department. The
site also lists links to towns and counties, listed alphabetically,
and to regional and state organizations.

New Jersey Planning Officials is a non-profit, tax-exempt
organization serving land-use boards and professionals throughout the
state, providing educational services, support and information to municipal
planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment. The
web site includes membership information, news and updates from the
organization and from other sources, articles about featured issues,
and information on relevant legislation and upcoming seminars. The organization's
newsletter, The Planner, is available on the site in HTML format. The site also includes an annotated list of links to
other sites of related interest.

The Office of State Planning is a division of the
State Department of Community Affairs. It oversees development and infrastructure
planning in the state, and staffs the State Planning Commission and
the state's Brownfields Task Force. OSP Net, the office's web
site, includes information about the office, its history, programs,and
mission; the Planning Commission and Brownfields Task Force, their missions,
projects, and goals; the Regional Intergovernmental Transportation Coordinating
Study Commission; and a calendar of upcoming meetings and events.

working as an advocate and information resource for the entire arts
community in the state. Its web site includes information about the
organization and its resources, including legislative information, a
job bank, speaker information, and other general information. The site also includes online editions of the ArtPride
newsletter, in PDF format, and its economic development brochure, which
deals with the arts as an industry and its economic impact on the state
and communities.
