web site with information about WVU Extension Service programs,
news, upcoming events, and online versions of many extension publications. Internal site pages are organized by subject in the

within the College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University,
and is West Virginia's leading business and economic research center.
The Bureau provides economic data, analysis, and forecasts to both public
and private-sector clients nationwide. The

these are organized by subject. Also available on the web site are the
West Virginia Business & Economic Review and Journal of

The County Commissioners' Association of West Virginia
is a statewide agency with the purpose of promoting the interest and
general welfare of local county governments; representing county government
before the state legislature, administrative agencies, and federal government;
educating the public about the value of and need for county programs
and services; and facilitating the exchange of problems, ideas, and
solutions among county officials. CCAWV provides educational programs,
legislative services, and communications to its members. The web site provides information about association programs,
contact information for member counties, county histories, and links
to the national association of counties and internal county home pages.
The association's newsletter, Commissioners' Corner, is available
on the web site. Internal county pages,
accessible through a link list or a clickable map, provide contact information,
economic profiles, photographic county tours, local sites of interest,

The Upshur County Development Authority is a not-for-profit
organization marketing Upshur County as a site for businesses focusing
on wood furniture, aircraft manufacturing, distribution, retail facilities,

on the community and listings of business properties in the area, divided
into either office or manufacturing properties. The site is linked to

The Huntington Area Development Council is a private,
non-profit organization for the purpose of attracting new employers
to Cabell and Wayne Counties; retaining existing employers; and helping

the area; diversify the local economy; expand the tax base; and enhance
the employment opportunities for area residents. The

The West Virginia Development Office is West Virginia's
chief economic and community development agency. It is directed by a
15-member council consisting of private-sector leaders. WVDO actively
promotes growth of the West Virginia economy through business start-ups,
business retention and expansion, and attraction of new industry. The WVDO web site includes information on the organization's
work within the areas of business and industrial development, community
development, international development, marketing and communications,
small business development, and technology. It also includes online
databases, and general information on doing business in West Virginia. The site also includes a list of related links organized

The Four-County Economic Development Authority
is a regional economic development effort formed by county commissions
of Fayette, Nicholas, Raleigh and Summers counties in an effort to assist
with the expansion and diversification of the economic base in their
counties. They assist businesses in expansion and location areas. The 4CEDA web site includes information about the area
for the use of businesses, including information on transportation,
telecommunications, business/technology parks, financing, quality of
life, buildings and sites, and other general demographic data. It provides
links to a few cities, chambers of commerce, businesses, and local organizations
in the area.

The Lincoln Economic Development Authority is a non-profit
corporation promoting the economic development of Lincoln county. Its
purpose it to promote and advance the business prosperity and economic
welfare of Lincoln County, while maintaining environmental standards,

exist in the areas of business retention and expansion, business recruiting,
small business assistance, area development, and community development. The web site includes information about LEDA, the proposed

authority, schools, and local archives. The site also offers articles

The Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council is a government
planning agency representing eight counties in West Virginia. It operates
programs in community and economic development, transportation planning,
social services, job training, and federal contracting assistance. The MOVRC web site has information about the council,
its member governments, programs, projects, and links for legislative
information, and to other sites about community and economic development.

database of small business resources, including information, training
materials, and seminars. The goals of West Virginia Online Outreach

local communities, and the private sector. The

Created in 1990 to assist businesses in operating
in a high-technology environment, the West Virginia High Technology
Consortium Foundation has 170 affiliate member companies. The Foundation
offers its affiliates educational, promotional, and technical assistance.
The organization serves as a catalyst for economic diversification by
partnering with government, business, and academia to work for education
of a quality workforce, research technologies, and develop a high-technology
infrastructure. The WVHTCF web site provides
information about research, development, and education; affiliate benefits;
current business opportunities; and news. It also includes an online
weekly magazine, Technology in the Mountains.
