Purpose: This conference explores what is known from current research about the causes and effects of rural poverty in the Northeast and what needs to be known in order to design more effective policies. Other goals are to facilitate future research collaborations, and to contribute to the evolution of a national rural poverty research agenda about causes and effects of rural poverty and the design of effective policies.
