American Farmland Trust American Farmland Trust Mid-Atlantic regional office: Delaware, http://www.farmland.org/mid_atlantic/delaware.htm Description: Since their founding in 1980, American Farmland Trust has helped win permanent protection for over a million acres of American farmland. They have three strategies for saving America's farmland: protect the best land through publicly funded agricultural conservation easement programs; plan for growth with agriculture in mind through effective community planning and growth management; and keep the land healthy for farmland through encouraging stewardship and conservation practices.
