Regional Greenways Description: Bear-Paw Regional Greenways is a land trust established by resident volunteers concerned with protecting open space lands. Bear-Paw has proposed a greenway that connects private or public lands with large areas of conservation land in a seven-town region including: Candia, Deerfield, Epsom, Northwood, Nottingham, Raymond, and Strafford. This network of voluntarily protected lands will provide important wildlife habitat and protect rivers, wetlands and recreational opportunities. of Environmental Services Description: DES's Waste Management Division, in cooperation with the Air Resources and Water Divisions, provides a coordinated approach to addressing pollution sources and remediating contaminated sites. Des's basic strategy is to prevent occurrences of events and practices that may lead to contamination, minimize the impacts of materials that become contaminants when misused or spilled, and efficiently and effectively utilize the Department's personnel and financial resources in environmental restoration. of Resources and Economic Development Description: The NH Division of Parks and Recreation's Bureau of Trails administers multiple-use trails on state, federal, and private lands. The Bureau of Trails assists organizations, municipalities, and trail clubs with the development of trails on both public and private lands. Included in the Bureau's management are 250 miles of wheeled off-highway recreational vehicle trails, over 300 miles of state-owned rail-trails, and 6,830 miles of snowmobile trails. Description:
The East Coast Greenway will be the nation's first long-distance, city-to-city,
multi-modal transportation corridor for cyclists, hikers, and other non-motorized
users. Our goal is to connect existing and planned trails that are locally
owned and managed to form a continuous, safe, green route -- easily identified
by the public through signage, maps, users guides, and common services.

Hampshire Association of Conservation Commissions
Description:
A municipal conservation commission may be established by a New Hampshire
municipality "for the proper utilization and protection of the natural
resources and for the protection of watershed resources of said city or
town." A commission is the only local board specifically charged
to protect the natural resources of the municipality. Without a conservation
commission, planning for this protection must be done by other boards,
all of which have other primary responsibilities. A conservation commission
