The
northeast has many successful and innovative programs for starting
and incubating businesses as well as many economic development organizations.
There are few opportunities for those in small business, micro-business
and agriculture to come together in a common venue to learn and share
strategiesand challenges across disciplines. When that dialog also
includes rural economic development specialists we expect a dynamic
and engaging event. Regionally we share many of the same opportunities
and challenges.
This
meeting is being planned as a starting point in a multi-year effort
to craft communities of interest among the land grant partners of
the northeast along with our many agency and organizational partners
working in the areas of entrepreneurship, land use, social and community-capital
and public policy.
